Island located in the Passamaquoddy Bay, NW of Campobello Island: West Isles Parish, Charlotte County: William Francis Ganong identified the Passamaquoddy name for Indian Island as Misigne'goos: in 1866 Indian Island was a fishing community with about 20 families: in 1871 it had a population of 75: PO 1859-1943: in 1898 Indian Island had 1 post office, 1 store and a population of 75.
