Restigouche County: established from Beresford Parish, Gloucester County in 1826: named for Henry Addington, 1st Viscount Sidmouth (1757-1884), who was involved in the New Brunswick-Maine boundary negotiations: included parts of Colborne Parish and Dalhousie Parish until 1839.
