Located on Long Reach section of the St. John River, 6.39 km NW of Moss Glen and 5.38 km NE of Holderville: Kingston Parish, Kings County: William Francis Ganong identified the Maliseet name for Long Reach as Amenhen'nik, meaning "curve" or "bend": PO 1867-1950: in 1866 Long Reach was a large farming settlement with approximately 55 families, including 9 Williams families: in 1871 it had a population of 300: in 1898 Long Reach had 1 post office, 1 store, 1 church and a population of 250.
