Description
Located on S side of the Southwest Miramichi River across from Priceville, on the road to Carroll’s Crossing: Ludlow Parish, Northumberland County. The name was formerly associated with what became Carroll’s Crossing, but the name shifted to its present location in the late 1880s when the McNamees pulled up stakes and moved a few miles upriver. In 1898 McNamee was a flag station on the Canada Eastern Railway and a farming and lumbering settlement with 1 post office, 1 church and a population of 75. It is the location of the suspension, walking bridge that crosses to Priceville on the northside of the river.
