Located on E side of the Memramcook River, 1.85 km N of Dorchester, on the road to College Bridge: Dorchester Parish, Westmorland County: PO 1861-1871 and 1887-1911: included Sunnyside and Sweet Briar Settlement: in 1866 Sweet Briar Settlement was a farming community with approximately 11 resident families: in 1866 Middleton was a farming settlement with about 46 families including 8 Chapman families: in 1871 Middleton had a population of 50: in 1898 Middleton had 1 post office and a population of 200.
