Located at the Canadian National Railway bridge spanning the Northwest Miramichi River, 3.92 km SSW of Newcastle, on the road to Derby Junction: Newcastle Parish, Northumberland County: formerly called Bridgetown: PO North West Bridge 1861-1968: in 1898 Northwest Bridge was a lumbering and farming community with 1 post office, 1 store, 1 sawmill and a population of 300: became part of Newcastle and is now within the city of Miramichi.
