Located on the Cocagne River, 5.34 km NE of Dufourville, on the road to Whites Settlement: Dundas Parish, Kent County: first called Scovil's Mills: PO Scovil's Mills 1866-1887: renamed in 1887: PO Notre-Dame from 1887: in 1898 Notre-Dame was a farming and lumbering settlement with 1 post office, 2 stores, 1 hotel, 1 sawmill, 1 quarry, 2 churches and a population of 400: Cocagne Station, a station on the Moncton and Buctouche Railway, was located nearby.
