Located near Oak Bay10.79 km SW of Hewitt: Saint David Parish, Charlotte County: William Francis Ganong identified the Passamaquoddy name for the Bay as Wahqua'eek: PO 1847-1969: in 1866 Oak Bay was a farming settlement with about 96 families: in 1866 the nearby community of Oak Bay Road had approximately 30 resident families: in 1871 Oak Bay and surrounding district had a population of 750: in 1898 Oak Bay was a station on the Shore Line Railway and a village with 1 post office, 2 stores, 1 sawmill, 1 cheese factory and creamery, 3 churches and a population of 200.
