Located on the Chaleur Bay, 6.09 km NNW of Petit-Rocher-Nord, on the road to Belledune: Beresford Parish, Gloucester County: in 1866 Pointe-Verte was a farming and fishing community with approximately 30 resident families: in 1871 Pointe-Verte and surrounding district had a population of 300: PO Green Point 1883-1938: in 1898 Pointe-Verte had 1 post office, 1 store, 1 hotel and a population of 150: PO Pointe-Verte from 1938: Pointe-Verte was incorporated as a village in 1966.
