Located on the W side of the Memramcook River, 3.71 km N of Cormier Cove and 2.26 km SE of McGinleys Corner: Dorchester Parish, Westmorland County: PO from 1869: site of Collège-St-Joseph, founded on October 10, 1864: in 1871 it had a population of 400: in 1898 Saint-Joseph was a farming settlement with 1 post office, 3 stores, 1 hotel, 1 butter and creamery factory, 1 college, 1 convent, 1 church and a population of 550: PO Collège-St-Joseph 1940-1967: PO Université-St-Joseph 1940-1959: Saint-Joseph was incorporated as a village in 1966 and became part of the village of Memramcook in 1995.
