Located 7.53 km S of Codys: Johnston Parish, Queens County: settled in 1824: in 1866 Salmon Creek was a farming community with approximately 8 resident families: PO Salmondale 1884-1918: in 1871 it had a population of 100: in 1898 Salmon Creek had 1 post office and a population of 75: included PO Oakham 1872-1912: in 1898 Oakham was a farming settlement on the Washademoak Lake with 1 post office and a population of 100.
