Located on E side of the St. John River, 2.25 km NW of Hartland, on the road to Peel: Brighton Parish, Carleton County: PO 1851-1863 and 1877-1929: in 1866 Upper Brighton was a farming and lumbering settlement with about 55 families: in 1898 Upper Brighton had 1 post office, 1 sawmill, 2 churches and a population of 150.
