Located 5.71 km NNE of Bartletts Mills: Saint Croix Parish, Charlotte County: William Francis Ganong identified the Passamaquoddy name for Waweig as Wahquah'eek: PO 1859-1869 and 1871-1969: in 1866 Waweig was a farming and lumbering settlement of nearly 95 families: in 1871 it had a population of 200: in 1898 Waweig was a settlement with 1 post office, 1 church and a population of 100: the Canadian Pacific Railway station located nearby was called Roix Road for John Roix, a local settler.
