Located on the Bay of Fundy, 7.84 km E of Mispec: Simonds Parish, St. John County: named for William West, who settled here in 1785: in 1871 it had a population of 100: in 1898 it was a farming and fishing village with 1 store, 1 sawmill, 2 churches and a population of 200: West Beach became part of Black River.
