Located on W side of the St. John River, 2.58 km E of Lower Prince William and 3.18 km NW of Longs Creek, near the site of Kings Landing Historical Settlement: Prince William Parish, York County: David Burden, Parker Burden and James Burden were early settlers here as was Edward Burden who was a storekeeper: PO 1885-1916: in 1898 Burden was a farming settlement with 1 post office, 1 store, 1 hotel, 1 church and a population of 200: this area was covered by water when the Mactaquac Dam was constructed.
