Located 4.99 km E of Janeville: New Bandon Parish, Gloucester County: named derived from that of the town of Canonbie, located in the county of Dumfrieshire in Scotland: in 1866 Canobie was a farming settlement with approximately 16 families: PO 1883-1931: in 1898 Canobie was a flag station on the Caraquet and Gulf Shore Railway and had 1 post office and a population of 100.
