Located on Little Shemogue Harbour, 9.27 km N of Port Elgin: Botsford Parish, Westmorland County: Frederick Chapman and Bowden Chapman came here in 1855 from Point de Bute where William Chapman had earlier settled in 1775 after coming from the the county of Yorkshire in England: PO Chapman 1873-1913 with Bowden Chapman as postmaster: in 1898 Chapman was a farming settlement with 1 post office, 1 sawmill, 1 grist mill, 1 church and a population of 200: Chapmans Corner became part of Little Shemogue.
