The Collège du Sacré-Coeur in Caraquet was destroyed by fire during the night of December 31, 1915. Although the cause was never determined, it is believed the fire might have been caused by the combustion of oil-soaked rags. The college was founded in 1899 by the Eudist Fathers and moved to Bathurst after the first campus was destroyed by fire. This picture shows the ruins of the College after the fire.
