1860-1936: in 1866 Briggs Corner was a farming community with approximately 50 resident families including the families of Ebenezer Briggs, Hiram Briggs, John Briggs and William Briggs: in 1871 Briggs Corner and surrounding district had a population of 500: in 1898 Briggs Corner had 1 post office, 1 store, 1 sawmill and a population of 100.
