The Grand Falls Museum, currently located at 66 Madawaska Street in Grand Falls, contains a collection of ceramics, clothing, agricultural and forestry implements as well as photographs relating to the original European settlers, French, American, and British soldiers. The Grand Falls Historical Society likely began in 1959 under the direction of Dr. B.A. Puddington and John Hughes, and was meeting semi-regularly from at least as early as April 7 1960. Anita Lagace was an active member. By 26 May 1961, newspapers reported plans for their opening a museum. The museum was operating at least as early as 13 August 1973 as the Grand Falls Historical Society Museum in the basement of the town's fire hall.
