The suspension bridge stood from 1860 to 1914-1915. Carving on the stone piers bears witness to its erection in 1860. Terse warning overhead states "Walk your horse and save a fine of $20".

Wooden sidewalk / boardwalk at Grand Falls. House on the extreme left was the John Graham home. Frame building on the extreme right once had a school in the upper storey and later housed the Royal Bank. The large building with the two-storey verandah housed Ted Parent's Livery Stable. Continuing on were Wiley's Drug Store, the Curless Hotel, Wade's Drug store and James McCluskey's General Store.
