Description St.Catherines, Oct. 17. - An energetic and zealous French-Acadian priest who act as a pastor of two parishes is Rev. Father L.A.H. Allain, of this city. Besides discharging his duties at St Mary's of St. Catherines, he administers to the Catholic population of Port Dalousie. Rev. Father Allain is a man of scholarly attainments and no pastor in St. Catherines is held in higher esteem than he. Father Allain was born in New Brunswick 53 years ago. After graduating from the local schools, he entered Memramcook University, New Brunswick, and later attended the Jesuit College of St. Mary's at the same place. He was first appointed to the diocese of Toronto. Later, he received his first charge at Uxbridge, Ont., and was transferred from there to Merriton and subsequently to St. Catherines where he has since been located. The results of Father Allain's active labors in building up his parishes in St. Catherines and Port DQ. loulfs show more than words can tell his zeal in behalf of his church. The Catholic population of the parishes of which Father Allain was charge is large, there being over 600 communicants at St. Mary's Church this city. Father Allain has accomplished much in the way of improvements since coming here and is ever active for the churches welfare. Utica Globe. (p.3 c.5)
