MILLER, THOMAS CHRISTIE (1855-1920)

MILLER, THOMAS CHRISTIE, businessman; b. Picton, Canada West, 26 Apr 1855, s/o Thomas Miller and Anna Christie; m. 1882, Anastasia Jane Wilson, sister of William Alexander Wilson; d. Millerton, 11 Sep 1920.

T. Christie Miller, a cousin of John C. Miller, came to the Miramichi with his parents in 1869. One of his earlier jobs involved the shipping of hemlock bark from Rogersville for the J. & J. Miller Tanning Extract Co. He was also the manager for a time of the extract plant which the firm operated in Hungary. He later had a general store and supply business at Millerton, with branches at Blackville and Red Bank. He and his wife, Anna J. Wilson, had two sons and five daughters living at home in 1901.
