NICHOLS, CRAIG WILLIAMS (1866-1942)

NICHOLS, CRAIG WILLIAMS, Anglican rector, Hardwicke, 1924; b. Saint John, 21 Jul 1866, s/o George Nichols and Amelia Williams; m. Edith Darling; d. Saint John, 12 Dec 1942.

Craig W. Nichols was in business in Saint John for some years before he enrolled in Wycliffe College in Toronto to study for the Anglican priesthood. He was ordained a priest in 1906 and had appointments in Saint John, Fredericton, and elsewhere in New Brunswick. He was named rector of Hardwicke in January 1924 but stayed only ten months. In November he left to take up an appointment in Rhode Island. He returned to New Brunswick a few years later and was rector of Waterford in Kings County. He was the rector at Petitcodiac immediately prior to his retirement in 1938. He was survived in 1942 by his wife, Edith Darling.
