RENAUD, MARIE EMELIE (1849-1918)

RENAUD, MARIE EMELIE, Sister Renaud of the Religious Hospitallers of St Joseph; superior at Chatham, 1889-91; b. St Paul, Canada East, 8 Jan 1849, d/o Jean-Baptiste Renaud and Alida Pazé; entered religious life, 1865; d. Winooski, Vt, 5 Sep 1918.

Emelie Renaud was appointed superior of the Religious Hospitallers of St Joseph at Chatham upon the death of Mother Emilie Sirois in 1889. Two years later she was recalled to Montreal and was succeeded at Chatham by Mary Ann Connors (Sister Kane). She was sixty-nine years of age when her death occurred in Winooski, Vermont, in 1918.
