WALLACE, PETER JAMES, doctor; b. Chatham, 24 Jun 1877, s/o John Wallace and Catherine McDonough; brother of Edward Patrick Wallace; m. 1909, Margaret Ann McDonald, d/o Alexander McDonald and Ann Gay; d. Covedell, 17 Oct 1943.
Peter J. Wallace was educated at St Francis Xavier University (BA 1898) and trained in medicine at Dalhousie (MD CM 1905). He practiced briefly in Chatham and then settled at Covedell, near Tabusintac. For many years he enjoyed a thriving practice, being the only doctor located between Chatham and Tracadie.
Wallace was survived in 1943 by his wife, Margaret A. McDonald, seven sons, and four daughters. One of his sons was Father John Wallace, who was the parish priest at Loggieville in the 1950s.
