ANGLIN, RICHARD WILLIAM, United Church minister, Millerton, 1932-39; b. Cork, Ireland, 27 Oct 1880, s/o John Anglin and Mary Ann Waugh; m. 1916, in Montreal, Alice Ethel Wathen; d. Ottawa, 26 Dec 1956.
Richard W. Anglin, who came to Canada in 1903, studied at Queen's University (BA 1908) and was later trained for the ministry at the Presbyterian College in Halifax. Ordained in 1911, he ministered for the Presbyterian church in Nova Scotia prior to church union and was a United Church pastor in Charlotte and Albert counties in New Brunswick. He was called to the Millerton and associated churches in 1932 and served for seven years, after which he had a one-year assignment in Ireland Island, Bermuda.
Anglin later had pastorates at Hampton and Springfield, N.B., and was then a minister in the Kingston area in Ontario, from 1949 until his retirement in Ottawa in 1951. He was survived in 1956 by his wife, Alice E. Wathen, and a son, Walter W. Anglin, who was a dentist.

Remarques
i) MA and BD degrees are displayed after Anglin's name in the Walkington directories. It is elsewhere stated that he studied at the University of Glasgow, but the facts are not known. ii) In the Walkington directory of United Church ministers, both Anglin and Joseph S. MacKay are shown as the minister at Millerton in 1925-26. Both may have supplied during that year.
