LEE, SAMUEL (1756-1805)
LEE, SAMUEL, non-resident MLA; b. Concord, Mass., 28 Mar 1756, s/o Joseph Lee and Lucy Jones; m. Sarah - ; d. Shediac, N.B., 3 Mar 1805.
A graduate of Harvard College (BA 1776), Samuel Lee was a Loyalist settler at Restigouche. He was a JP and JCP while that district was still part of Northumberland County, and in 1795 he was elected, together with James Fraser, to represent the county in the provincial assembly. When he was defeated by Alexander Taylor in the election of 1802 he retired from politics. His death occurred at Shediac while he was on his way home to Restigouche from Halifax.
