RAMSAY, EDMUND (1850-1925)

RAMSAY, EDMUND, Methodist minister, Boiestown circuit, 1902-05; b. Freeland, Lot 11, P.E.I., 17 May 1850, s/o Robert Ramsay and Ann Ellis; m. Ruth Ann Dunville, also a native of the Island; d. Albert, N.B., 22 Feb 1925.

Edmund Ramsay spent a number of years in business before he entered the Methodist ministry as a probationer in 1891. Ordained in 1895, he pursued his entire career in New Brunswick, serving in approximately ten rural districts. He spent the usual three years at Boiestown, and when he left in 1905 he went to the Nashwaak. His last assignment was at Springfield. He was superannuated in 1922, but when he was stricken three years later it was while preaching a sermon at Harvey in Albert County. "A most companionable man," he was survived by "his wife of fifty years," Ruth A. Dunville, two daughters, and two sons.
