Résumé Parish of Salisbury, Westmorland County. Will dated 6 May 1816, proved 28 June 1816. Son James BABCOCK all my land on east side of [Pollit] River except the little Interval, but the possession and profits to remain in the hands of my executors for the use and benefit of my widow during her life. Son Henry BABCOCK the little Interval, so-called, with the upland adjoining between him and his brother James, subject to the payment of 50 pounds of sugar yearly to his mother for the use of the sugar grove during her life. Daughters Hannah, Sarah, Charlotte, Levina and Elizabeth each £16 to be paid out of a legacy left me at Cornwallis whenever said legacy may become due. Levina and Elizabeth the privilege of a home at my dwelling house during the life of their mother or as long as they remain unmarried. Wife Sarah £10 from said legacy. Brother-in-law Simeon LEOMAR £10 from said legacy as a token of my gratitude and thanks to him for his kindness to my aged mother. Reserve £4 from said legacy to defray expense of collecting the same. Livestock reserved to discharge my lawful debts, the remainder for the use and support of my widow during her life, and at her decease, to son James. Wife Sarah BABCOCK, friends Robert SMITH and William KAY executors. Witnesses: Charles CANE, John GELDART, Charles STEVES. File contains a bond dated 12 June 1826 from David BLAKNEY and wife Hannah, Charles LEWIS and wife Sarah, Robert STILES and wife Charlotte, Robert SMITH Junr. and wife Levina, and Henry HOPPER and wife, unnamed, as heirs of Frederick BABCOCK, in the amount of £200 to James BABCOCK of Salisbury and to Robert SMITH and William KAY, executors of the estate of Frederick BABCOCK, as discharge of claims against the estate. Witnesses: Alexander CANE, Charles CANE, William PARKIN.
