Parish of Sussex, Kings County. Will dated 16 December 1825, proved 28 June 1826. Wife Salley HALLETT all household furniture and one third of the produce of the farm. Three oldest sons, Samuel, William and John, are already provided for in land and to have no more of my estate. Money due to me from sons William and John by note to be paid. Son Oliver HALLETT Lot 45 on the Salmon River adjoining land belonging to William BARBARIE and one half of the Island I bought of George LEONARD Esq., he to cancel my bond of £200 with James HENDRICKS by giving him a deed of the millstream lot of land granted to Oliver HALLETT as soon as the said Oliver HALLETT becomes of Age. My three sons Joseph, George and James Hendricks HALLETT the homestead farm containing Lot 44 and part of Lot 43 between Samuel HALLETT and Daniel McLEAIN(sic) containing 350 acres and the other half of the Island lot purchased of George LEONARD Esq. with the livestock and farming utensils. Son William owes me £100 by note and he must pay my daughters Ann and Susan £50 each. Son John owes me £50 by note and he must pay Jane DOLE and Charlotte FAIRWEATHER £25 each. Elijah ARNOLD shall have the like sum of £25 "to be made up ought of the Stock of Cattle that be on the Farm Two years after my decease." Oliver HALLETT will live on the homestead with the three boys, Joseph, George and Hendricks, until he can build on his own farm or until Joseph comes of age. Lot 4 at the Salmon River bridge, containing 200 acres, with the exception of seven acres deeded to David McGRIGGOR, and the front of Lots 33 and 34, to be sold by executors to pay my debts. Sons Samuel and Oliver HALLETT executors. Witnesses: Peter COUGLE, Isaac FOSHAY, Oliver D. COUGLE. CODICIL dated 14 June 1826 bequeaths to son Oliver one horse and a yearling colt, two cows, a pair of steers, one two year old heifer, four yearling calves and twelve sheep. Witnesses: Oliver ARNOLD, George N. ARNOLD. Inventory "of the property of the late Major Samuel HALLETT," dated 3 July 1826, valued at £1,092 by John C. VAIL, John D. [GIDNY] and George N. ARNOLD.
