Résumé City of Saint John, St. John County, Esquire. Will dated 14 July 1830, proved 27 August 1834. Wife Sarah £400, my household furniture, the use of my dwelling during her lifetime, provided she occupy it herself, and the use and income of one-third of the residue of my estate. Brother Calvin Luther HATHEWAY £12 10s. Brother Charles Reed HATHEWAY £100. Brother Thomas Gilbert HATHEWAY £30 with a hope that the said Thomas will feel able and disposed to give the said Legacy to Calvin Luther HATHEWAY. Son Galen HATHEWAY £1,000, half at age 21, £250 at age 22, and the balance at age 23, the interest on the whole to be taken yearly for his support and education by my son-in-law Joshua Warren HATHAWAY and my daughter Mary Ann HATHAWAY. Should son Galen die before age 21, £100 to be paid to the Congregational Society in Sheffield, £100 to the Baptist Society in Waterborough and £100 to the Methodist Society in Sheffield, and a further £100 placed in the hands of the Magistrates of the County of Sunbury, the interest annually expended for the education of poor children in that County. Daughter Mary Ann HATHAWAY and son-in-law Joshua Warren HATHAWAY residue of estate. Wife Sarah HATHEWAY and son-in-law Joshua Warren HATHAWAY executors. Witnesses: Daniel SCOVIL, W. H. SCOVIL, John GOLDING.
