City of Saint John, St. John County. Formerly a merchant residing at Glasgow in Scotland. Died 30 January 1828 intestate. Administration granted 21 July 1828 to John McLEAN, gentleman. Fellow bondsmen Robert MacINTYRE, merchant, and Elisha D. RATCHFORD, all of the City of Saint John. Petition of John McLEAN praying administration stated that James McKAY was indebted at the time of his death to sundry persons resident in Scotland, that is to say, to one George ORD of Glasgow, accountant, Cuthbertson and Tweedie of the same place, merchants, William CUTHBERTSON and James TWEEDIE, the individual partners of said concern, David BOYD, stationer, of the same place, William RODGER and Son of the same place, timber merchants, William RODGER and Robert RODGER, the individual partners of that concern, in divers large sums of money; the creditors have appointed petitioner their attorney. Inventory, dated 7 September 1828, valued at £837 by Peter BESNARD, Elisha D. W. RATCHFORD and Robert MacINTYRE.
