Abstract Parish of Portland, St. John County. Intestate. Administration granted 19 June 1827 to James GALLAGHER and Michael MAHONY. Fellow bondsmen William WATTERS and John FORD, all of the City of Saint John. Petition of James GALLAGHER and Michael MAHONY (signed "MEHENEY") stated that the deceased left no wife or next of kin but five infant children, the eldest a daughter about [fourteen] years of age. Inventory, dated 23 June 1827, valued at £467 by Thomas FITZPATRICK, Michael DOOLING and Nugent CREIGHTON. On 21 December 1844 the accounts were passed and a remaining surplus of £47 11s. 3d. was distributed among the four children of the deceased now living, Thomas CARNEY, Alice wife of John McGOWAN, Mary CARNEY and Ann CARNEY.
