Letter dated at Saint John 12 January 1821 to William STRICKLAND instructing him, in the event of any misfortune occuring to me after leaving this place, to take the letter to Messrs. CROOKSHANK and JOHNSTON and act agreeable to their advice. My request and command that you will take every care of the Property entrusted to you, and remit Mrs. DOVE £200 Sterling after paying all the demands against me in the province, remit the remaining proceeds to Mr. William TULFORD No. 9 Lad Lane, London for him to appropriate. Letter signed by John DOVE. Letter opened 11 May 1821 by STRICKLAND in presence of James C. BRENNER, Thomas COOKE and Andrew WINGFIELD (the latter named as "Maria WINFIELD" in Record Book C). Accepted as will and proved 17 May 1821, William STRICKLAND executor.
