Will dated at Edinburgh 30 March 1825, registered 26 September 1825 in the Books of the Court of Session of Scotland. To my brother Francis EDMOND Wright in Aberdeen, £100 Sterling. To Katharine PAUL his wife £50 Sterling. To Katharine EDMOND his eldest daughter £30 Sterling. To Alexander EDMOND his eldest son £50 Sterling. To Jean EDMOND, my sister, spouse of George RAE Messenger at Arms in Aberdeen £30 Sterling. To Alexander EDMOND son of my brother James EDMOND Wright in Aberdeen £25 Sterling. To Alexander EDMOND son of my brother Charles EDMOND Wright in Aberdeen £25 Sterling. To Alexander EDMOND son of my brother John EDMOND of Portland in the United States of America £25 Sterling. To Alexander RAE son of the said George RAE and of Jean EDMOND my sister £25 Sterling. Residue of estate to Andrew BLACK residing at Forrester Hill near Aberdeen, Francis EDMOND Wright in Aberdeen my brother, John WISHART of Saint John, New Brunswick, Merchant, my nephew and partner in business, and William BLACK, also of Saint John, Merchant, in trust for the benefit of the residuary Legatees, to convert estate to cash and divide into seven equal shares. One share to my brother Francis, one share to my brother James, one share to my brother Charles, one share to my brother John, one share to my sister, the said Jean EDMOND, one share to my nephew John WISHART and the remaining share to Janet, Elizabeth and John WISHART, the three children of the deceased Elizabeth EDMOND, my sister, and of James WISHART of Montrose, her husband. Andrew BLACK, Francis EDMOND, John WISHART and William BLACK executors. Witnesses: Alexander STUART, Alexander BURNETT and Andrew MORTON, all Writers in Edinburgh. Andrew BLACK declined to act. In response to petition of John WISHART, nephew and nearest of kin of the deceased in New Brunswick, and William BLACK Esq. stating that Alexander EDMOND died at Edinburgh on 5 April last past, leaving estate in St. John County, temporary administration granted 11 July 1825 to John WISHART and William BLACK Esq. Fellow bondsmen David HATFIELD and James ROBERTSON, merchants, all of the City of Saint John. Will proved at Saint John 28 January 1826 with William BLACK and John WISHART sworn as executors.
