Résumé City of Saint John, St. John County. Will dated 29 August 1820, proved [9] April 1827. Daughters Catherine, Jane, Ann and Mary each £2,000 stock in the capital or joint stock of three per cent annuity created by an Act of Parliament of the twenty-fifth year of the reign of His Majesty King George the Second, and likewise to each daughter £500 stock in the [Navy] five percent annuities transferable at the Bank of England. Daughter Louisa £912 10s. stock in the capital stock and funds of the Governor and Company of the Bank of England, £500 stock in the five per cent annuities, and £54 stock in the five per cent annuities created by an Act of Parliament of the thirty-fourth year of the reign of His Majesty King George the Third. To the four children of my late son Thomas BILLOPP, viz. Mary Laurine, Frances, John More and Thomas Farmar £500 stock in the five per cent annuities to be divided among them. Grandson Thomas Farmar my family pictures that I left in New York. To the four children of my daughter Sarah, viz. Billopp, Edward, Jasper and Frances, each £100 stock in the five per cent stock. To the two daughters of my late daughter Frances each £100 in the five per cent annuities. William Billopp ROBERTSON my two lots of land, 318 and 319, on the north side of Kings Square in Saint John. Daughters Ann and Mary all household furniture and Lots 387 and 388 and western half of Lot 386 on the north side of Kings Square. To my five daughters, the children of my last wife Jane the residue of estate. Sons-in-law Hon. John BLACK, Hon. William BLACK, John WALLACE Esq., my friend Hon. John ROBINSON, and my daughters Ann and Mary executors. Witnesses: Ralph M. JARVIS, James KENDRICKS, Hugh JOHNSTON Junior, Henry BLAKSLEE. CODICIL dated 28 November 1822 stated the five per cent annuities referred to in the will were now paid off and a new stock created bearing interest at four per cent transferable at the Bank of England, the holdings of five per cent stock had been converted and thus the bequests of five per cent stock were to be replaced with the new issue. Further directed that the bequest to grand-daughter Frances, daughter of my daughter Frances be cancelled and that her sister, Mary E. ROBERTSON should receive £200 pounds. Witness: Robert PARKER Junr. On 7 April 1827 William BLACK, merchant, petitioned, stating that Christopher BILLOP died 28 March last; that Hon. John BLACK Esq. of Halifax was deceased; that of the other executors, John WALLACE Esq. of Halifax, Mary, wife of Rev. Robert WILLIS, rector of St. Paul's, Halifax, John ROBINSON Esq. of Saint John, Ann BILLOPP, spinster, of Saint John, only three are now present in the Province to act and that John ROBINSON and Ann BILLOPP are not immediately desirous of taking upon themselves the trust. William BLACK requested probate be granted to him with leave for the other executors to come in and prove the same when desirous of so doing.
