City of Saint John, St. John County, Merchant. Will dated 15 November 1827, proved 27 June 1828. Daughter Isabella PIPER all the clothes and ornaments which belonged to my deceased wife, her mother. Grandson William Donald PIPER my watch and its appendages. My servant woman Margaret Polly £50, provided she continues to reside with me and behave well and is living with me at the time of my death. If daughter Isabella is living with me, or comes to Saint John shortly after my death, she to have the use of my furniture and plate as long as she may require them. Residue of estate to executors in trust that they allow my son William DONALD to occupy my residence or receive the rents and profits of the Lots 31 and 32 at Dipper Harbour during his life, and after his death the same for the use of his lawful issue, if any. If son should die without lawful issue, executors to hold estate for the use of the children of daughter Isabella, and if she should die without issue, the same to the children of my brother Alexander DONALD residing at the Pennyac near Fredericton. Executors to divide the interest and rents into four equal parts, paying one share to my son George DONALD for life, and to any lawful issue after his death. If he die without issue, his fourth to be added to that of my daughter and her children. One other share to son William DONALD in the same manner and terms. One other share to daughter Isabella during her lifetime. The fourth share to be used for the support and education of grandson William Donald PIPER, the residue to be paid to him at age 22. Friends Robert CROOKSHANK the Elder, Charles SIMONDS and Thomas BARLOW, Esquires, all of the City of Saint John, executors and guardians of grandson William Donald PIPER. Witnesses: R. ALLEN, R. PARKER Junr., John M. ROBINSON. CODICIL dated 31 January 1828 directs that all furniture and articles in his residence be sold, with the exception of the plate, to be given to daughter Isabella, if she living, and a bed, bedstead and bedding to servant girl, named in my will.
