Our LaHavre coorespondent writes: The schr. "James A. Garfield" of Gloucester, James McKINNON, master, at LaHavre, 16th inst., from St. Peters Bank reports the loss of six men in the northeast gale and snow storm of 10th inst. These men left in their dories in the morn. of that day to haul up their trawls. Shortly afterwards the gale sprang up accompanied by a heavy snow storm and they never regained their vessel. The names of the lost men are Wm MORRISON, London, England; John McKINNON, P.E.I.; Edw. BROPHY, Prospect, N.S.; John WHITMAN, Guysboro, N.S.; Andrew DUNN, Gaspe and Charles RAY, Portland, Maine. The "James A. Garfield" sailed from LaHavre for home 19th inst. - 'Halifax Herald'
