John GALLOWAY went out to his barn Tuesday morn. to make some repairs and was found dead on the basement floor 2 or 3 hours afterwards. He was lying in a heap, head under and the neck was limp, as though broken. It is supposed that he fell from the top and broke his neck. He was one of Chatham's most progressive and prosperous farmers; was president of the Liberal-Conservative club and had often been proposed as a candidate for the Legislature. He was 61 years old.
