The death of Lt. Gov. Edward CHANDLER will be heard with regret. He was a son of Charles H. CHANDLER, Esq., for many years High Sheriff of Cumberland County, N.S. and a grandson of Joshua CHANDLER of New Haven, Conn., loyalist and member of the General Assembly in 1775, who proceeded to Nova Scotia in 1773 and thence to England to obtain compensation for his losses during the American Revolution. The deceased was born at Amherst, N.S. in 1800 and therefore was nearly 80 years of age at the time of his death. He was educated at Amherst. In 1822 he married P.W. MILLIDGE d/o late Dr. MILLIDGE and niece of late Judge BOTSFORD. He was called to the Bar of New Brunswick in 1823. He was Judge of Probates for Westmorland Co. for many years and Clerk of the Peace from 1823 to 1862. He was President of the Aolbert Westmorland Mining and Manufacturing Co. He was member of the Executive Council of this Province from 1844 to 1858 and from 1867 to 1869, when he resigned on his appointment as an InterColonial Railway Commissioner. He was appointed Lt.
