The death of Capt. Augustus J.T. QUICK took place yesterday at the residence of his son-in-law, Andrew LAWSON, 191 Union St., Saint John. Quick had been sick about six weeks. He was a native of England, but came to this country in early manhood and had been 40 years a resident of Saint John. Up to the time of the fire (June 20, 1877) he followed the sea, but shortly after that event he retired and opened a ship-chandlery store on Water St., the management of which he subsequently transferred to Mr. Lawson. Mr. Quick was at one time chairman of the Board of Port Wardens and was for years an active member of Centenary Church. The deceased had reached a ripe age of 81. His wife died some years ago, but a son and three daughters survive him. The funeral will take place from the residence of Mr. Lawson tomorrow.
