A telephone message to the 'Sun' from Oak Point last eve. says: A sad drowning accident occurred Sunday morn. about 10 o'clock at Porter's Landing, just below this place on the opposite side of the river. Four sons of James GANONG went out sailing and the boat capsized. In a moment the four boys were struggling in the water, some trying to get on the boat and others endeavoring to reach the shore. One disappeared in a minute or two after the boat capsized. One of the boys who started to swim for the shore was seized with cramps. He cried for assistance, but his other brothers were struggling some distance away and could give him no aid, and he went down. The other two succeeded in reaching the shore. Almost completely exhausted, one so chilled through that he was with difficulty resuscitated. The names of the two drowned are Edgar GANONG and Willie GANONG, aged respectively 8 and 12 years. One of the bodies was recovered about 3 o'clock this afternoon.
