Gaius S. TURNER, son of Isaac TURNER, was born in Albert County in August 1838. He was educated there and engaged in shipbuilding and general trading. He was director of the Albert railroad. His wife was Miss Lucy E. STILES. At the general election of 1878 he was first returned to the legislature and has been successful at every election since. He was sworn in a member of the executive of the present government in 1883 and resigned about a year ago to go into opposition. Conservative and Baptist.
