d. At sea, of brain fever, age 21, Thomas eldest s/o Thomas MORRIS of Imperial Hall in this city. He was the second mate of the "Robert Leonard" on the voyage to Clyde. On his last voyage to the West Indies, he narrowly escaped a wretched fate by starvation. The vessel capsized in the Carribean Sea and he was six days and nights on the vessel's side without food or drink when they were picked up and carried to Antigua.
