Grand Manan, Nov. 15 - Capt. Harry A. McLAUGHLIN, a Grand Manan boy residing in San Francisco, Cal. and master of the Spreckels tug "Resolute" in the emply of the Speckels, the sugar king, dropped dead at the wheel on Oct. 22nd. Capt. McLaughlin left the Island about 23 years ago and went to the sea before the mast with his uncle, Capt. Daniel McLAUGHLIN in the clipper ship "Swallow", making several voyages to Europe and California, eventually settling in San Francisco. He was about 48 years of age. He was the eldest s/o Henry McLAUGHLIN of the Island. His mother and the other members of the family are now living at Campobello. He was one of the best known coasting captains in San Francisco and leaves a wife and one child to mourn his loss.
