Halifax, N.S., Feb. 11 - Joseph McLELLAN was killed in a most peculiar manner today at Richmond. After oiling the outside bearings of a shunting engine of which he was driver, he laid the oil can which had a long sharp nozzle on the step while he climbed into the engine. In so doing he slipped and fell on the oil can, the sharp nozzle of which was deeply embedded in the head, entering just below the ear. The accident occurred at 3 o'clock and he died at six. He was 76 years of age and had he lived today would have been thirty years in the railway employ.
