David HIGGINS, age 9, s/o John HIGGINS, Tailor, King St., Carleton (St. John) was sent by his mother yesterday morn. about 9 o'clock to Christopher's Wharf for the purpose of getting some fish. As he did not return for an hour, search was made for him, when his body was discovered beneath the wharf. He had fallen through a hole where a plank had been left out and which was partially covered by a net. He had been seen by a fisherman at 9 o'clock on the wharf, but the man went away leaving him there. It appears strange that there was no water in the body when it was found. Coroner Robinson held an inquest and a verdict of accidentally drowned was returned.
