The burial of the remains of the late Rebecca Ellen PYE of St. John, formerly of Hopewell Cape, took place at Clakin's Cemetery, Thursday afternoon. Deceased was the wife of Capt. Thomas R. PYE and d/o H.A. SHARP. The death occurred in St. John, at which time the captain was at sea and the remains were placed in a vault in St. John Rural Cemetery. Capt. Pye received the sad intelligence when he reached Pensacola, Forida and hurried home to the funeral. Besides the captain and his two daughters, Rev. J.B. Howard and Undertaker Chamberlain accompanied the corpse from St. John. A large concourse of citizens were at the station on the arrival of the train and the long cortege was ormed and proceeded to the Baptist Church. The pall bearers were Capt. Benjamin T. CARTER, Capt. Charles W. ROBINSON, Capt. Myles W. BREWER, Capt. Joseph H. COOK, Capt. ARLINGTON, G. DICKSON and James R. HAMILTON. Rev. Benjamin N. Hughes officiated in the services in the church and at the graves.
