Yesterday a laborer named George NICHOL, while assisting in discharging a coal laden schooner at Straight Shore, Portland (St. John) was struck by a lump of coal and knocked overboard, On being rescued from the water he was insensible. He was conveyed to his residence Black Spring Road, Portland when it was found that his skull was fractured. He is alive today but is yet insensible and it is feared he will not recover. He is a married man and has a family. Dr. J.J. Gaynor is attending him.
